Leadership and Personal Growth, has been around for a long time, in the modern era, Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, John Maxwell, and others have been teaching on leadership concepts collectively for over a century. One of the downsides is when recipients learn to “game the system.” For instance, they know what they are supposed to say, they set up the requisite 1:1 meetings with staff members in order to show interest, they have an “open-door policy” to display availability but unless their daily actions support servanthood, empathy, and gratitude, all they are really doing is “checking the box” to satisfy their own bosses that they took the feedback that they needed to improve their leadership skills seriously. Alas, things go unchanged other than a facade.
